Tiangong International Successfully Holds the Third Session of the Third Workers’ Congress
On April 14, the third session of the Tiangong International Workers' Congress was successfully held and achieved complete success. Attended by 120 employee representatives, company management, and members of the Trade Union Committee, the congress was chaired by Chief Executive Officer Zhu Zefeng.
2023 marks a pivotal year for Tiangong International as it advances high-quality development, deepens management reforms, and strives to reach new heights in the industry. In this context, the Company solemnly convened the third session of the Third Workers' Congress, aiming to thoroughly implement its overall development strategy and objectives, and mobilize all employees to provide suggestions and participate in decision-making to achieve the Company’s overall planning and development goals.
At the congress, General Manager Wu Suojun delivered a corporate work report titled “Maintaining Resolute Determination and Steadfast Action to Advance Toward New Heights in Industrial Development”, and presented the recommendations for the work in 2023. He particularly emphasized deepening the employee compensation system, strengthening the acquisition and application of production process and technical knowledge, and accelerating innovation-driven initiatives. Yan Ronghua, Chairman of the Trade Union, presented a union work report titled “Shouldering Responsibility, Fulfilling Representative Roles, and Setting a Positive Image”. In the report, he summarized the implementation of proposals from the previous session of the Workers’ Congress and the Union’s work over the past year, and also clarified the direction and plans for the Trade Union’s work.
In the afternoon, group plenary sessions were held for the Administrative Representatives Group, Representatives Group of Jurong Enterprise Management Department, Mould Steel Representatives Group, High-Speed Steel Representatives Group, and Cutting Tools Representatives Group, with relevant department heads attending the meeting as non-voting participants. The groups conducted deliberations on the work reports delivered by General Manager Wu Suojun and by Trade Union Chairman Yan Ronghua. The representatives diligently fulfilled their duties, actively shared their insights and reflections on both reports, and put forward numerous valuable suggestions for enhancing company management. Zhu Xiaokun, Chairman of the Board of Directors, participated in the group meeting of the Representative Group of Jurong Enterprise Management Department. He listened to the deliberations on the reports by General Manager Wu Suojun and Union Chairman Yan Ronghua, expressed full affirmation of the suggestions raised by the representatives on production management and employee livelihoods, and provided responses to each.
During the closing session, Xu Shaoqi, Vice Chairman of the Trade Union, summarized and reported on the proposals received during this Workers' Congress. The statistics showed that a total of 173 valuable suggestions were collected from the representatives, covering various aspects of company management and employee welfare. Regarding these opinions and suggestions, the Company will further clarify responsible entities, and publicize them through various channels, ensuring that every case will receive a response and every matter will be followed up on.
At the closing session, Zhu Xiaokun, Chairman of the Board of Directors, delivered an important speech titled “Making Contributions to the Country and Seeking Happiness for Our Employees is Our Corporate Purpose”.
Chairman Zhu Xiaokun stated that he highly agrees with the corporate work report for 2022 and the plans for 2023 presented by General Manager Wu Suojun, as well as the report by Trade Union Chairman Yan Ronghua on the implementation status of proposals from the Second Session of the Third Workers' Congress in 2022. This fully demonstrates that the Company highly values the suggestions and opinions raised by the worker representatives and treats them as key priorities in corporate management. The Company and the Trade Union attached great importance to the implementation of these proposals from the worker representatives, in order to enhance their sense of honor, responsibility and commitment, while encouraging all departments to better utilize the opinions and suggestions from front-line employees, improve the Company’s various tasks in high-quality development, and achieve continuous improvement. Only in this way can all employees be united as one, work effectively. Only in this way can our company move steadily and achieve better development.
Chairman Zhu Xiaokun emphasized that the representatives came from the staff, from the frontline of production, and from different posts. By diligently fulfilling their duties, they convey matters the Company most seeks to understand, problems it most wishes to resolve, and situations it most desires to discern. This will ensure all corporate operations benefit from the broad support and dedication of employees, and enable all Tiangong workers to work together and strive diligently toward the Company’s annual goals.
Chairman Zhu Xiaokun pointed out that during the afternoon group meetings, some suggestions might appear minor, yet they actually reflect significant management issues. Whether it involves cafeteria queuing, setting up smoking rooms, or expanding restroom facilities, all these precisely reflect the needs of frontline employees. The senior management staff may not be fully aware of such issues. The employees can report such issues at the Workers’ Congress. It is good way for the Company to practice the concept of “treating employees’ matters as top priorities”. These matters must be properly addressed. Only by effectively handling every minor matter can employees feel content and motivated to tackle larger challenges.
Chairman Zhu Xiaokun emphasized that the Company’s development purpose is to contribute to the nation and seek happiness for employees. This is not merely a slogan. It must be put into tangible practice. Our enterprise has grown under the favorable economic environment created by the nation and has progressed within the socialist system. For this, we must express our gratitude to our Party and country. Therefore, it is both natural and well-deserved for the company to pay taxes diligently and fulfill its social responsibilities. Chairman Zhu Xiaokun further stressed that pursuing happiness for employees means ensuring that every staff member genuinely feels that working in Tiangong is a proud decision of their lifetime. To truly achieve this purpose, we need to give opportunities to employees to speak up anytime and anywhere. Even when the directors of each workshop lead their employees in morning briefing every day, they should also listen to the employees' feedback. Chairman Zhu Xiaokun specifically required that managers at all levels, regardless of the form of the meeting they hold, must allocate time for participants to express their opinions and suggestions. Only in this way can every meeting achieve multiplied outcomes with minimal effort.
To seek happiness for employees, it is necessary to carefully listen to their feedback, understand the difficulties they face in actual work, share their opinions in a practical way, constantly improve and enhance them. So our employees not only work hard but also feel a sense of honor in participating and take pride in accomplishing their tasks. This is also a major initiative to build the core competitiveness of our workforce. To seek happiness for employees, it is necessary to reflect their reasonable demands, gather their wisdom, and help these in difficulties, making every employee, especially those in special difficulties, have hope, aspiration and reliance for a better life. We must never turn a blind eye or a deaf ear. We must maintain communication and exchange with these employees, inspiring their confidence and courage to rebuild their lives and making them deeply feel that it is happy and worthwhile to work in Tiangong.
Chairman Zhu Xiaokun pointed out that happiness is earned through striving, and striving itself is a form of happiness. We must deeply understand, just as all employees do, that happiness is achieved through hard work. It is impossible to enjoy a happy life without working. Success requires personal dedication. No one will hand you a free lunch, and there are no saviors in this world. He particularly emphasized that splendor in life is created through action, not through inaction.
Chairman Zhu Xiaokun requested that all representatives convey the spirit of today's congress and the work decisions and arrangements for 2023 back to their respective departments. He emphasized the importance of thoroughly communicating this year's compensation reform requirements to employees.
At the end of the congress, Chairman Zhu Xiaokun shared the motivating words, "those with goals lie awake; those without goals lie asleep," with all participants. He expressed his wishes for every Tiangong employee to find joy in work, happiness in life, and good health. He also hoped that all representatives attending this congress would fulfill their duties diligently, live up to expectations and stay at the forefront.
The Third Session of the third Workers’ Congress was convened under the circumstances where the Company was continuously deepening its compensation system reform and striving to achieve high-quality development. Held amid severe challenges in the global economic environment, this congress served as a crucial forum for aligning perspectives, enhancing understanding, and ensuring the smooth advancement of the Company's reform and development initiatives. Centered on the core themes of deepening reforms, driving innovation, and refining management, this congress is poised to play a significant role in clarifying the Company’s forward direction, pooling the collective wisdom of all employees, and consolidating efforts to achieve the overall development goals.
