Big News! Tiangong International Shines at 2026 National Die Casting Annual Conference; Chief Scientist Dr. Yu Yang Decodes Core Solutions for New Energy Vehicle Integrated Die Casting

Wuhan, March 27, 2026 – The 2026 National Die Casting Annual Conference, themed “Stable Aluminum, New Journey of Magnesium,” concluded successfully at the Wuhan Baohe Crowne Plaza Hotel. As a key partner and technology-leading enterprise at this year’s conference, Tiangong International Co., Ltd. deeply engaged in all agenda items, demonstrating leading capabilities and forward-looking vision in industry exchanges and technical discussions. At the conference’s main technology forum, Dr. Yu Yang, Chief Scientist of Tiangong International, delivered a special report titled “Comprehensive Solutions for Advanced Materials and Processes in Integrated Die Casting.” The report focused on the development trends of integrated die casting for new energy vehicles, systematically addressing key materials, core processes, and application scenarios, comprehensively showcasing Tiangong International’s latest achievements in resolving critical industry pain points and driving technological upgrades.

This year’s conference brought together over 700 corporate representatives and industry experts from more than 10 countries worldwide. With its systematic solutions and cutting-edge technological practices, Tiangong International provided important reference pathways for the development of the integrated die casting industry, further highlighting the company’s technological leadership in advanced materials and manufacturing.

From Conference Hall to Factory: A Closed Loop of Ideas and Practice

The three-day conference featured 45 insightful speeches and brought together leading enterprises and research institutions, including Dongfeng Technology, Voyah Automotive, Guangdong Hongtu, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The conference not only focused on analyzing technological trends but also emphasized “moving from theory to practice.” On the afternoon of March 27, the organizing committee arranged for over 100 participants to visit the integrated die casting workshop of Dongfeng Technology’s Wuhan branch, witnessing firsthand the impressive operation of a 16,000-ton ultra-large die casting production line, along with visits to Voyah Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., Guangdong Hongtu Wuhan Die Casting Co., Ltd., and the State Key Laboratory of Materials Processing and Die & Mould Technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

At such an industry event emphasizing the closed-loop integration of “theory-practice-research,” Tiangong International’s presence garnered significant attention. As a leading domestic enterprise in powder metallurgy and tool and die steel, Tiangong International, through its continuous deep cultivation in the field of “advanced materials for integrated die casting,” has become an indispensable “material foundation” in the lightweight manufacturing process of new energy vehicles.

Dr. Yu Yang Decodes: From Material Genes to System-Level Solutions

During the technical presentation session on the final morning, Dr. Yu Yang, Chief Scientist of Tiangong International, delivered his report titled “Comprehensive Solutions for Advanced Materials and Processes in Integrated Die Casting.” Dr. Yu is not only the leader of Tiangong International’s technical team but also the recipient of the “Outstanding Individual Contribution Award” in the Asian powder metallurgy field. In his report, he pointed out that as the new energy vehicle industry races towards the disruptive process of integrated die casting, global challenges faced by large die-casting molds—such as uneven heat dissipation, short lifespan, and thermal fatigue cracking—are becoming increasingly prominent, serving as critical bottlenecks restricting industry efficiency and cost control.

Addressing this pain point, Dr. Yu systematically introduced Tiangong International’s “Comprehensive Solution.” A core aspect of this solution involves combining powder metallurgy near-net-shape technology with built-in conformal cooling channel design. Dr. Yu vividly likened this to “embedding a capillary network that conforms to the part’s shape inside the mold.” This design significantly optimizes cooling efficiency; practical tests show it can improve cooling efficiency by over 30%, substantially extending mold service life, thereby helping die-casting companies significantly reduce overall costs.

During his presentation, Dr. Yu also showcased Tiangong’s technological breakthroughs in four core components: sprue bushings, shot sleeves, distributor cones, and plunger tips. Enhanced by high-density powder materials and hot isostatic pressing processes, these products not only possess excellent thermal fatigue resistance and wear resistance but have also been implemented in production applications. He revealed that the service life of a single sprue bushing has exceeded 20,000 cycles, with performance matching or even surpassing similar international products.

Full-Chain Layout and National Mission

Behind Tiangong International’s prominent appearance at the annual conference lies its technical strength accumulated over many years. As previously introduced by Chairman of the Board Zhu Xiaokun, Tiangong possesses a unique “full industry chain” layout in China—from metal powder preparation, to research and development of tool and die steel, titanium alloys, and powder metallurgy materials, and finally to precision cutting tool manufacturing. This “internal circulation” capability ensures the company’s efficient coordination in material innovation.

In 2024, Tiangong International successfully led the national key research and development program project “Key Technology R&D and Application of Powder Metallurgy and Additive Manufacturing for New Die Casting Mold Steels,” collaborating with eight entities including Tsinghua University and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) to tackle the critical bottleneck issues in high-end die-casting molds.

Outlook: A Chinese Model Advancing Towards a Hundred-Billion-Yuan Market

With the rapid expansion of integrated die casting technology, the market size for high-performance near-net-shape components is expected to approach the “hundred-billion-yuan level” in the next five years. At the conclusion of his speech, Dr. Yu Yang stated that Tiangong International will continue to focus on in-depth research and development of material genes, promoting the domestic production and high-end development of advanced mold materials, helping Chinese manufacturing achieve an overall leap forward in lightweighting, high strength, and high precision.

“From material breakthroughs to systematic solutions, Tiangong is willing to work with industry peers to provide superior Chinese solutions for the integrated die casting industry in China and globally,” said Dr. Yu Yang at the end of his speech.

As the 2026 National Die Casting Annual Conference successfully concludes, Tiangong International, starting from “material genes,” is injecting strong “Chinese momentum” into the global lightweight revolution of new energy vehicles. From July 15 to 17 this year, the 20th Shanghai International Die Casting & Non-Ferrous Casting Exhibition will be held, and the industry eagerly anticipates more innovative surprises from Tiangong International.
